Heart Surgery

So, I started this blog back in March. But, I haven't kept up with it. So, I am going to try and keep up with it now!
What a journey we have been on since then! Lila is now eleven months old. She is giving high five, sitting up, crawling, pulling up to standing, and signing "more"!
She is such a good and happy baby. What a beautiful blessing we have been given.

I have so many posts to catch up on. But, I will begin with Lila's heart surgery. She had heart surgery on March 19, 2011. She spent one week in LeBonheur Children's Hospital and recovered like a champ!

It was the most difficult experience of my life and I wasn't even the patient. I swear, holding that baby for the first time after surgery was nearly as exciting as holding her for the first time after she was born.

For eight weeks after surgery we couldn't pick Lila up under her arms. So, we had to scoop her up. She wore a bright pink sticker on her chest that said scoop me.

 

She was so tough. We nicknamed her "The Warrior Princess". It is totally appropriate.
